Problem. One-glance triage before shipping a workflow or hosted service. Conditions. Synthesis of the sibling findings (pinned revisions in each); not a legal opinion; each cell restates what the cited text says. Method (matrix: code / weights / outputs / hard limits / duties). Wan 2.1/2.2/Animate: Apache-2.0 / Apache-2.0 / no claim by licensor, user accountable / none found / Apache notice duties. HunyuanVideo: licence terms in Tencent Hunyuan Community License / same / Outputs may not be used to improve other AI models, none claimed over content ownership beyond that / excluded territory EU, UK, South Korea; 100M MAU gate; Hosted Service counts / give recipients the agreement, Notice file, change notices, downstream use restrictions. FramePack: Apache-2.0 code / unspecified in sources / unspecified / possible Hunyuan inheritance (unresolved) / none stated. - When does dynamic batching help or hurt a diffusion/video model server, and which Triton settings trade latency for throughput? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Deciding whether to batch concurrent image/video requests on one GPU or run them one at a time. Conditions. NVIDIA Triton Inference Server docs/user_guide/batcher.md at commit d13379e3 (2026-10-22). Method. The docs say the dynamic batcher combines requests into batches to typically increase throughput and should be used for stateless models; it is configured per model (dynamic_batching { }). Tuning loop from the docs: measure latency and throughput with Performance Analyzer under the default config; if latency is within budget, raise the maximum batch size and/or set max_queue_delay_microseconds to a non-zero value, increasing it until the latency budget is exceeded. The delay makes the batcher wait for a full (or preferred) batch but never longer than the configured delay for any request. Preferred batch sizes are discouraged for most models and only worthwhile if a size is much faster. Queue policy lets you cap queue size and set timeouts with reject or delay actions, an...
- How should Celery time limits, soft limits and prefetch be set for multi-minute renders so a hung job is cleaned up and short jobs do not queue behind long ones? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Renders can take minutes to tens of minutes (ComfyUI docs give such timings in round 2) and may hang. Conditions. Celery stable configuration and optimizing docs. Method. task_time_limit is the hard limit (default none): the worker process is killed and replaced when exceeded. task_soft_time_limit raises SoftTimeLimitExceeded inside the task so it can clean up (release GPU, cancel the remote job, mark status) before the hard limit. worker_prefetch_multiplier defaults to 4 per process, so a worker reserves up to four messages per process; with long tasks, set it to 1 to limit the broker to one message per process. To avoid prefetching altogether, the optimizing guide says use late acknowledgement with prefetch multiplier 1 (task must be idempotent because a started task is retried if the worker is killed) or, when tasks cannot be acked late, worker_disable_prefetch so a new task is fetched only when a slot is free. Pair hard limit and visibility timeout (previous finding) so...
- How do I run a fair content experiment with YouTube Studio's own tools, which variables to fix, how long, and why views alone cannot show cause? active

Problem: deciding whether a change (hook, length, format, thumbnail) helps. Documentation (source_statement): YouTube's Tips page says to compare videos of the same format because audience behaviour differs across formats, and to group similar videos in Analytics and compare them in the watch-time report; the Audience page defines monthly audience as a rolling 28-day window and shows rolling windows of 7 and 28 days for other reports. The native thumbnail/title test (Test & Compare) is described in C3-B573-04. Method (inference by this worker, not a YouTube instruction): (1) write the hypothesis and one primary metric (for example average view duration or relative retention at 30 s, not raw views) before publishing; (2) change one variable and hold topic, format (Shorts vs long-form), length band, publish slot, title/thumbnail pattern and upload cadence constant; (3) publish at least several matched videos per arm, or use Test & Compare where it applies, rather than one video each; ...
- What does YouTube document about archiving live streams (VOD after live), the 12-hour limit and 4K, and what should I do as backup? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem: keeping a replay of a live stream. Source: YouTube Help 'Archive live streams'. Source statements: if a stream is under 12 hours YouTube can archive it automatically, for encoder, webcam and mobile streams; YouTube also archives 1440p and 2160p streams automatically; YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup; highlight clips can be created while live; if a stream exceeds 12 hours it may not be captured at all. Archive visibility can be changed, or the archive deleted, on Studio's Content, Live tab (mobile live archives also from 'My videos'). Method (inference): set an encoder-side recording for long or important streams, split marathon streams under 12 hours, and set the archive's visibility intentionally before the stream ends if it should stay private. Failure modes: assuming a 14-hour stream is saved. Limitations: the page says nothing about editing, trimming or re-use of the archive; Studio trim was covered in earlier rounds; processing time is not given.
- What do YouTube's live stream latency options (Normal, Low, Ultra-low) mean, and when should each be used? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem: choosing latency for a live stream. Source: YouTube Help 'Understand live streaming latency'. Source statements: latency is the delay between capture and viewer display; read-ahead buffer is the main source of latency; lower latency means a smaller buffer so viewers feel network problems more and may see more buffering. Normal latency: best for non-interactive streams, highest quality, lowest buffering, all resolutions and live features supported. Low latency: for limited interaction (no waiting for responses, such as polls); most viewers will see under 10 seconds; 4K not supported. Ultra-low latency: for highly interactive streams; most viewers under 5 seconds; may increase buffering. Webcam and mobile streaming are always set up for interactivity and have no latency setting. The setting is under Stream settings in Live Control Room. Method (inference): pick Normal for non-interactive broadcasts, Low for chat answers, Ultra-low for Q&A or live reactions with a stable encod...

The Unity Kinematica (preview) and Learned Motion Matching memory/training claims remain producer-verified.
- With Celery on Redis, when can a long GPU render run twice, and what do acks_late, idempotency and the visibility timeout mean for a job queue in front of ComfyUI? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Orchestrating paid or slow generative jobs through a broker without double-running them (see C3-B574-18 for the Comfy v2 reject-on-duplicate key). Conditions. Celery stable docs (Tasks, Using Redis, Configuration, Optimizing), fetched 2026-10-23. Method. Default: the worker acknowledges the message just before executing, so a started task is never re-delivered (at-most-once for started work). Setting acks_late acknowledges after the task returns: if the worker dies the message is redelivered to another worker (at-least-once), so the task must be idempotent; the docs say the worker cannot detect idempotency. Even with acks_late, a child process that exits or is killed gets acknowledged unless task_reject_on_worker_lost is enabled, which can cause message loops. On Redis, a message not acknowledged within the visibility timeout (default one hour) is redelivered to another worker, and tasks whose runtime exceeds it execute again, 'and again in a loop' for ETA/countdown/retry t...

Problem: setting up moderation for a channel. Source: YouTube Help 'Learn about comment settings'. Source statements: per-video comment settings are On, Pause or Off. Comments can be limited to subscribers and paid members, with a minimum subscription time (any duration, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week); this is not available at channel level. Channel-level: hidden users (their comments are hidden across all videos; they also cannot create clips), approved users (comments published automatically and not filtered for blocked links, words or inappropriate content), blocked words (comments containing or closely matching them may be held up to 60 days; live chat messages with them are blocked), blocked comments with links (links he...

There is no single correct cutoff for noisy motion data: Winter-style residual analysis gives a starting point but is known to oversmooth, and the author of the commonly copied 0.05 cm threshold warned it was never meant to be used out of context; compute a cutoff as a first guess and check velocities/accelerations on your own data.
- How does OpenTimelineIO structure a timeline (Timeline, Stack, Track, Clip, Gap, Transition, media reference, metadata), and how could AI generation details ride along on clips? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. AI shots need to move between tools without losing which prompt/seed/model made them. Conditions. OpenTimelineIO docs 'latest' at fetch; OTIO 0.x schemas. Method (documented). A Timeline holds a top-level Stack of Tracks; Tracks hold Clips, Gaps and Transitions; image tracks are rendered in painter order (bottom of the stack first), audio tracks add; effects: OTIO says nothing about their impact and behaviour is application specific. Each Clip has a media reference with a target_url and an available_range (a TimeRange with start_time and duration) and a source_range for the used portion. Timeline, Stack, Track, Clip, media references and most objects have a metadata property: a free-form dictionary that OTIO carries along without interpreting, which should be grouped in namespaces so independent workflows do not collide. Use for AI shots [inference]: put generation facts (provider, model name and version, prompt, negative prompt, seed, reference image names, take number, ap...

Conditions. so-vits-svc 4.1-Stable README; RVC WebUI README and LICENSE. Method. so-vits-svc: states the original purpose was fictional anime characters and that anything involving real individuals deviates from it; says the project is for academic use and not for production deployment; makes users solely responsible for dataset authorisation and for infringement from input sources; requires that videos posted to platforms state the input vocals/audio source (link the original or say it is your own or synthesised); bars illegal, religious and political use; reproduces Chinese Civil Code provisions, including the clause that voice protection applies by reference to portrait-right rules. @veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem: preparing thumbnail files. Source: YouTube Help 'Add custom thumbnails on YouTube', read 2026-10-23. Source statements: recommended resolution 3840x2160 for videos and 2160x3840 for Shorts (minimum width 640 px for videos, minimum height 640 px for Shorts); JPG or PNG; file limits depend on device: mobile 2 MB for video thumbnails (10 MB for podcasts), desktop 50 MB for video, Shorts and podcast thumbnails; aim for 16:9 for videos, 9:16 for Shorts and 1:1 for podcast playlists. A vertical video with a 16:9 custom thumbnail is replaced by an auto-generated 4:5 thumbnail on the home, explore and subscription pages; the custom one still appears on watch feed, history and non-mobile platforms. Custom Short thumbnails can currently be added only in Studio on a computer and need a verified account; changes may take time to show. This matches the 50 MB desktop limit that the Oct 2025 TV blog said was coming (see P-L4-6-12). Method (inference): design a Short thumbnail at 9:16, che...
- How do I check and protect a mix for mono playback (phone speakers, radios) and what causes phase cancellation, according to Sound On Sound? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Stereo mixes summed to mono can lose tone or level. Conditions. Any stereo deliverable likely heard on phones, smart speakers or cheap radios. Method (SOS contributors, secondary trade-press). Sum L and R with a mono plug-in or monitor-controller switch; a mono-ising plug-in on the master bus must be removed afterward. Panning a mono source off-centre costs at most about 3 dB in the mono sum, so check that a hard-panned part still functions. Stereo recordings or effect returns with out-of-phase or polarity-inverted content can cancel when summed, often frequency-selectively, so tone suffers; spaced-pair overheads and stereo piano are typical. Use a vectorscope or phase correlation meter (a consistently negative reading indicates a problem); compare against commercial mixes in mono. Failure modes. Polarity-inverted amp simulators, M/S widening. Limits. Articles date 2005 to 2022; music-oriented, dialogue and effects follow the same sum rule (inference). Link to loudness targ...

Corrected 2026-10-23 - see C3-B614-14; the original statements below are kept for history and are superseded where the correction says so. Problem: understand what a proposed US federal digital-replica right would require of producers and performers. Status: an introduced bill (119th Congress, 9 April 2025); not law as of this text, and the introduced text may have changed. Method (source text): it defines a digital replica as a newly created, computer-generated, highly realistic representation readily identifiable as a person's voice or visual likeness, either in work they did not perform or in a version whose performance was materially altered; it makes the authorisation right a licensable property right that is not assignable during life; post-mortem it lasts 10 years for the right holder plus 5-year renewals on proof of active use, ending no later than 70 years after death. Licence rules: a living adult's licence is valid only up to 10 years, must be written and signed, and must...

@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. AI shorts have many generated takes per shot and need an orderly path from script to locked picture. Conditions. A short with dozens of shots; steps are inference stitched from the findings 01-12 and prior ones (paper edits C2-B26-A4-06; J/L cuts and split edits C3-B137-S29-03/05, C3-B164-G58-01..05; dialogue cutting C3-B231-S58-05; pacing C2-B17-A3-02 and C3-B589-04). Method [inference]. (1) Paper edit: write the shot list with beat, emotional purpose, duration target and dialogue; pick the order before generating. (2) Generate to the shot list; name files SHOT-ID_take. (3) Selects: score takes with the six-criteria sheet (P-L1-6-02), mark one hero take per shot and keep alternates as 'B' takes; reject for artefacts early (C3-B586-11). - What does the Seed-VC paper claim about zero-shot voice conversion (timbre leakage, similarity, intelligibility), and how big was the evaluation? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Voice conversion must keep what was said and how, while replacing who says it; content features often leak source timbre, and removing leakage can raise word error rate. Conditions. Zero-shot: source and target speakers unseen in training; reference audio of a few seconds. Method. Seed-VC uses a diffusion transformer with in-context conditioning on reference audio and an external timbre shifter during training so content features do not carry the source timbre. Measured result (author-reported). On 100 LibriTTS test-clean source utterances and 8 target-speaker references (seed-tts-eval), Seed-VC reached speaker similarity (SECS) 0.8676 and WER 11.99% against ground-truth WER 8.02% and OpenVoice SECS 0.7547; the paper also reports lower CER than baselines. Failure modes. The authors note OpenVoice scored slightly higher on some DNSMOS quality scores, interpreted as a trade-off with timbre fidelity. Limits. Small eval (8 targets), English-centric, objective metrics only, no l...
- Voice changer (speech-to-speech) versus TTS for performance-driven dubbing: what does ElevenLabs say is preserved from the source performance, and what do I have to supply? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. TTS invents timing and emotion from text; a dubbing or ADR editor who wants a specific performance (whisper, laugh, cry, cadence) needs a method that keeps the actor's delivery and swaps only the voice. Conditions. You have a recorded or live source performance and a target voice (cloned or designed) in the same account. Method. Per ElevenLabs docs, Voice changer takes source audio (file or microphone), a target voice_id and a model (eleven_multilingual_sts_v2 covers 29 languages; eleven_english_sts_v2 is English-only, and the docs say the multilingual model often does better even for English). The docs state the output keeps tone, delivery, cadence, whispers, sighs, laughs and cries; the target voice supplies timbre only. It is positioned as a complement to TTS (fix pronunciation, add performance) and to voice actors (extend range). Failure modes. The docs warn input gain matters: quiet input hinders recognition, loud input clips. There is a remove_background_noise option,...

@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Text-based edits leave jump cuts; some tools repair them with AI. Conditions. Descript help pages (23 Oct 2026); English only; uses AI credits on current plans. Method (documented). Regenerate uses AI to smooth or rewrite parts of a video: heal jump cuts, tighten pacing, clean audio, or change what a speaker said (the last needs an authorised custom AI speaker). It currently supports English audio and video only. In video projects it regenerates Audio & video by default, with an Audio only option; sequences, B-roll, multi-speaker recordings and shots where the speaker's face isn't clearly visible cannot have video regenerated; Descript asks consent the first time because the process modifies a speaker's visual performance. Smooth jump cuts scans the whole composition and regenerates audio and video at each jump cut: Find first (lists every cut for review, recommended when the composition has intentional cuts such as scene changes or camera-angle cuts) or Smooth all (5 cuts ...

Problem. Text-based editing automates cuts from a transcript; each automation has scope limits. Conditions. Descript help pages 23 Oct 2026. Method (documented). Filler words: detects ums, uhs and similar in English transcripts only, lists each with timestamp and preview, and per instance lets you delete, replace with a gap, ignore, or remove from the transcript. Edit for Clarity: analyses the script to clean pacing, tighten delivery and remove unnecessary or off-topic content; an Edit intensity slider (Low light touch, Medium balanced, Heavy more aggressive); an optional Reword for flow generates AI speech where needed and requires speaker labels and an assigned AI Speaker for each speaker. Wordless media (Beta): shows silence, dead air, ambient noise and pauses as editable script text, disabled by default, enabled per project or in app settings for new projects. Problem. A mono sum played through two speakers creates a phantom centre image. Conditions. Monitoring mono balance. Method. Hugh Robjohns (SOS) says two-speaker mono sounds slightly over-inflated in bass because both speakers contribute; a single speaker shows the true mono balance, which is what phone and portable listeners hear. Most controllers offer only phantom mono, fine for imaging and phase checks, not bass balance. Failure modes. Forgetting to cancel a mono sum in the output stage yields a mono final mix. Limits. 2005 article; secondary. Version/date. Nov 2005.

- What are Seed-VC's practical inputs, latency, singing mode and consent-relevant switches, and under what licence is it released? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Choosing an open voice converter for a pipeline requires knowing input limits, real-time latency, singing handling and licence. Conditions. Seed-VC main branch README. Method. Reference speech of 1 to 30 seconds clones a voice with no training; optional fine-tuning needs as little as one utterance per speaker (1 to 30 s files, clean, no background music or noise). Real-time mode has stated algorithm delay about 300 ms plus about 100 ms device delay. Singing: set f0-condition to True and use 30 to 50 diffusion steps; auto-f0-adjust is normally off for singing; semi-tone-shift transposes. A v2 option convert-style uses an autoregressive model to convert accent and emotion (false gives timbre-only conversion); anonymization-only ignores the reference and maps speech to an average voice. Failure modes. Noisy or music-laden source or training audio is explicitly undesirable. Limits. Repo README claims, not independently run. Rights. The repo LICENSE is GNU GPL v3 (copyleft; I re...
- What AI-related changes does the DaVinci Resolve 20.1 guide document for Smart Reframe (pan-only/tilt-only), AI Dialogue Matcher and AI Audio Assistant, and where do they help with AI shots? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Prior findings cover Resolve's Magic Mask, Smart Reframe, Voice Isolation and SmartSwitch; the 20.1 release adds controls worth knowing. Conditions. Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve 20.1 New Features Guide (August 2025); the extracted pages do not mark these items as Studio-only (the guide marks Apple Spatial Audio Format as Studio-only), so edition availability is unverified. Method (documented). Smart Reframe gets a Mode dropdown to limit AI reframing to a specific axis: Auto adjusts pan and tilt as it deems necessary, Pan Only adjusts left-right only, Tilt Only up-down only. AI Dialogue Matcher: applying a Dialogue Matcher profile to a timeline clip adds an instance in the Inspector's Effects tab with controls for the amount of Voice Isolation and a Dry/Wet mix to match the ambient quality of the source more accurately. AI Audio Assistant: option to switch between the macro view and the full view of any plugin applied during mixing; disabled tracks are ignored during mixing; q...
- For singing voice conversion, how do Seed-VC and so-vits-svc handle pitch, and what did Seed-VC measure against RVCv2? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Speech VC settings damage singing: automatic pitch prediction drifts and pitch range mismatches produce wrong notes. Conditions. Converting vocal stems (isolated, dry) to another timbre. Method. Seed-VC conditions the model on source F0 (extracted with RMVPE, quantised into 256 bins) and shifts F0 by gender or semitone setting between source and target; its README says to enable f0-condition and use 30 to 50 diffusion steps for singing. so-vits-svc warns not to use auto_predict_f0 for singing because it can cause serious pitch issues, and says silence-slicing minimum interval can be lowered to about 100 or 50 for singing. Measured result (author-reported, Seed-VC paper Table 2): on singing, Seed-VC SECS 0.7405 vs RVCv2 0.7264, both F0 correlation about 0.94, Seed-VC lower CER, RVCv2 slightly better DNSMOS. Failure modes. Wrong octave or key shift; auto pitch on; accompaniment bleed in the input (RVC README points to Ultimate Vocal Remover for stem separation; inference that...
- What does Descript document for Extend video and start/end-frame transitions, and how do those limits compare with other AI extend tools? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. A clip ends a beat early and needs more footage, or a title/scene transition is wanted between two stills. Conditions. Descript help pages, 23 Oct 2026; model-dependent controls and credits. Method (documented). Extend video: works on generated clips, recorded media and imported footage; it uses the last keyframe of the selected clip as the starting point, so the final frame matters most; you write a prompt for the extension, choose advanced settings per model, preview, and insert; with scenes in the project the extension fills the remaining time in the scene up to the model's maximum clip duration; an extension can itself be extended. Tips: predictable motion works best (smooth steady movement like walking or a camera pan; avoid abrupt cuts or mid-action endings); specific prompts (camera slowly zooms out beats zooms out); shorter extensions often produce better results and may need several generations. Start and end frame: an optional parameter for AI video in Descript, a...
- If I run a non-native or differently accented actor through ElevenLabs Voice changer, will the target voice's accent replace theirs? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Producers assume a voice swap also swaps the accent or language character. Conditions. ElevenLabs Voice changer with any target voice. Method. The docs state the input determines accent and cadence: a British target voice fed an American-accented recording yields that voice with an American accent; a Portuguese-accented input keeps the accent. So, to get a given accent, cast or direct the source performer for it (or use TTS/dubbing for accent change). Failure modes. Treating the library voice's label (British, American) as a guarantee of accent. Limits. Vendor best-practice statement only; no measurement of accent fidelity. The Seed-VC repo, by contrast, exposes a convert-style switch that attempts accent and emotion conversion with an autoregressive model (see related finding), showing that accent retention is a design choice that differs by tool. Version/date. Docs as fetched.
- What new TV features did YouTube announce in Oct 2025 (50 MB thumbnails, AI super-resolution upscaling with opt-out, contextual search, shopping QR), and how does the Help page now match? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem: understanding platform-side changes to how videos appear on TV. Source: YouTube Blog 'New features to help creators shine on TV screens' (Kurt Wilms, 29 Oct 2025), compared with the live thumbnails Help page. Platform statements: channels earning six figures or more from TV screens rose by over 45% (July 2024-June 2025 vs prior year; YouTube-reported); the thumbnail file limit would 'soon' expand from 2 MB to 50 MB so YouTube can serve 4K thumbnails (the Help page now lists a 50 MB desktop limit and 2 MB on mobile, so this has at least partly happened as of 2026-10-23); a new AI-powered feature generates higher resolutions, starting by upscaling videos uploaded below 1080p from SD to HD, with a goal of up to 4K; original files and resolutions are kept, there is an opt-out, and viewers can watch the original resolution, with 'super resolution' labelled under settings; channel pages get immersive previews, and Shows design groups videos; contextual search on TV prioritises a ...
- What do OTIO's own use cases and media linker say about re-conforming new renders into a cut, and how does that apply when an AI shot is regenerated? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. A shot is regenerated several times; the cut should update without rebuilding the edit. Conditions. OTIO use-case pages: Conform New Renders Into The Cut (status Done, in use at several feature film studios) and Shots Added or Removed From The Cut (status Planned). Method (documented). Conform: editorial exports an EDL and a matching QuickTime mixdown; the artist converts the EDL to OTIO (or a player plugin reads it), links timeline shots to segments of the QuickTime, and can then relink any or all shots to the latest renders to see them in context. Shots added/removed: an EDL or AAF is exported daily; a script reads clip names (and metadata) to list video clips in the cut and compares with the shots in progress, so work on removed shots stops; a new shot can be requested by duplicating a clip with a new name or inserting a placeholder with an unused name. A Media Linker plugin can replace MissingReferences with valid site-specific media references after an adapter reads a ...
- What phrase patterns (aa', aa'b, srdc) do pop sections follow, and which halves must stay together when I shorten or repeat one? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Shortening a verse or chorus by deleting a phrase can destroy its call-and-response logic. Conditions. Sections of 2-4 phrases in pop/rock. Method. OMT labels two-part sections aa' (antecedent-consequent, same start, different ending), three-part aa'b (12-bar blues is the most common case) and four-part srdc (statement, response, departure, conclusion), where srdc divides into halves sr and dc. The 'd' phrase typically fragments material, speeds harmonic rhythm and leaves tonic, and 'c' concludes. Inference for editing: delete or repeat whole halves (sr or dc) or whole sections, not single phrases; do not drop the 'd' phrase while keeping 'c' because 'c' is written to resolve 'd'. Failure modes: reading a bar count as structure; a 'prime' marks changed ending/lyrics, so two a-phrases are not interchangeable at the cadence. Limitations. Analytic labels are conventions; borderline cases exist (the source says many songs are not clear cut). Version/date. OMT 2e, Aug 2025.
- Where does AI video-to-audio fall short of a Foley pass on surface and timbre control? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. A Foley artist changes shoes, surfaces and props per scene; V2A gives what the model infers. Conditions. Current open V2A models (MMAudio-class) with text or video conditioning. Method. AC-Foley (ICLR 2026) states existing systems cannot synthesise creator-specified variations such as footsteps varying by surface material, attributing it to coarse training labels and text that cannot describe micro-acoustic features; its remedy is conditioning on reference audio. Its own limitations section adds that with several concurrent sources (dialogue, ambience, object interactions) the model may fail to align specific sounds with their visual triggers. Use: for hero footsteps and cloth, treat V2A as a draft layer; supply reference audio of the surface or record the pass. Failure modes: same footstep timbre on all surfaces; ambiguous mixed scenes. Limitations. Authors' own framing of related work; results are their benchmarks, not a human-Foley comparison; none of this was run by me....
- Do all TikTok Symphony Dreamina Seedance variants unlock at $5,000 spend, and is access certainly lost below it? Correction to C3-B536-01: TikTok says you 'may lose access', and variant availability depends on subscription tier. active

Problem. C3-B536-01 states that Seedance access is 'lost if spend falls below' $5,000 and presents Standard, Fast and Mini as unlocked by that single spend rule. Conditions. Direct advertisers using Symphony Creative Studio. Method. TikTok's access page says that when the 30-day spend later falls below $5,000 USD you 'may lose access' at the next weekly refresh (hedged, not certain). The Dreamina Seedance overview says availability of each variant depends on the subscription tier and continues to expand, and that credit cost per generation varies by model tier and is shown in the model dropdown. The $5,000 rule, Monday review, highest-spend-ID rule, agency separate process and 4-15 s desktop limits in C3-B536-01 are otherwise supported. Failure modes. Planning a campaign on the assumption of guaranteed access or of all three variants at $5,000. Limitations. Subscription tiers are not defined on the pages read. Version and date. - Is the 0.4 s rectangular Momentary window universal? Correction to C3-B539-01 (missing limitation): it is the 'EBU Mode' definition; ITU-R BS.1771-1 prescribes a first-order IIR filter with a 0.4 s time constant, so meters can differ on Momentary readings. active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. C3-B539-01 states Momentary loudness uses a sliding rectangular 0.4 s window as the Tech 3341 definition, without noting that this is specific to EBU Mode. Conditions. Choosing or comparing loudness meters. Method. Tech 3341 says further attack/release slowing after the sliding rectangular windows is not allowed in EBU Mode, and notes that ITU-R BS.1771-1 prescribes a first-order IIR filter with a 0.4 s time constant to measure Momentary Loudness; EBU kept the rectangular-window definition in EBU Mode until evidence clarifies the issue. So a meter following BS.1771 Momentary ballistics may read differently from an EBU Mode meter. Short-term (3 s) and Integrated gating statements in C3-B539-01 are unaffected. Failure modes. Treating any 'Momentary' reading as an EBU Mode 0.4 s rectangular window. Limitations. The IIR detail is taken from the bracketed note in V4 (Nov 2023); later ITU revisions were not checked. Version and date. EBU Tech 3341 V4, read 23 Oct 2026.
- Did Illinois HB4875 become law, and when does it take effect? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. The earlier note on enrolled HB4875 left enactment and effective date unverified. Method. The Illinois General Assembly bill-status file for HB4875 (103rd GA) shows Governor Approved on 8/9/2024, Effective Date January 1, 2025, and Public Act 103-0836. So the digital-replica amendments to the Right of Publicity Act are in force; the enrolled text previously summarised applies subject to any later amendment I did not check. Use: treat Illinois consent and platform-liability rules as live for uses in Illinois from 1 January 2025. Failure modes: assuming a bill status page equals text in force; later 104th GA amendments were not checked (the HB4875 number in the 104th GA is an unrelated procurement bill). Limitations. Status file only; I did not re-read the Public Act text or the statute as codified. Version/date. Fetched 2026-10-23. Ledger: Tennessee HB2091 (ELVIS Act) page shows signed 03/21/2024, Public Chapter 588, effective 07/01/2024, matching earlier items.

Problem. C3-B506-01 says return_speech 'also returns separated dialogue as its own file' and recommends mixing in an editor with dialogue kept via preserve/keep-speech, without the limitation the schema states. Conditions. Mirelo SFX 2.0 video-to-audio on fal with preserve_speech true (the default). Method. The schema says that with preserve_speech true the returned file is the speech separated from the input around which the soundtracks were generated, not the speech in the soundtracks; the model renders that speech anew, so the file does not cancel or double it cleanly when layered onto a soundtrack. With preserve_speech false the soundtracks are effects only and speech is separated while they generate. The file is mono, in the chosen upload format, as long as the soundtracks, and not billed. Failure modes. Layering the stem over a preserve_speech soundtrack to rebuild or null dialogue can double or comb the voice. Limitations. Behaviour read from the schema description only; no a...
- Where are the safe cut points in a generated pop/rock song: how long is a section, how long a phrase, and what marks a section boundary? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. An edit agent must trim or re-time a generated song but cannot see 'sections'. Conditions. Pop/rock in a conventional 4/4 verse-chorus or AABA frame; the source analyses recorded songs, not generated audio. Method. Open Music Theory (OMT) defines a phrase as typically four bars carrying one lyric line, and a section (module) as typically 8-24 bars of 2-4 phrases that sets one stanza. Boundaries are signalled together: end of a rhymed stanza, a drum fill, a sudden volume rise, a more active guitar/second layer, higher vocal register and added backing vocals. Treat a candidate cut as strong when several of these coincide, and place cuts on the phrase (4-bar) or section grid, not on an arbitrary beat. Failure modes. Cutting mid-phrase leaves a lyric line or antecedent without its consequent; a drum fill belongs to the end of the outgoing phrase, so cut after it, not before. Limitations. Counts are 'typically' from corpus work (Summach 2012, as cited); songs with phrase expansi...
- How does energy build across a verse-chorus song (prechorus, chorus, bridge), and what does that imply for arrangement density when I re-order or shorten sections? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. A song cut to picture needs a deliberate energy curve, not just the right length. Conditions. Verse-chorus form songs. Method. OMT: verse, prechorus, chorus and postchorus always progress in that order within a cycle (not all need be present); the prechorus is recognised by energy gain; the chorus carries the title lyric and heightened intensity relative to the verse (denser or more active texture, prominent backing vocals, higher register - Summach 2012 as quoted). The bridge appears once, usually before the last chorus, and replaces the verse and/or prechorus in a cycle rather than being added. Use: to lower energy for dialogue, choose verse-level texture; to climax on a picture event, land the prechorus-to-chorus step there. Failure modes: moving a chorus ahead of the first prechorus removes the build; looping a chorus without variation flattens the curve (inference). Limitations. 'Energy' is described qualitatively by the source; no numeric loudness or density measure i...
- Is it supported by Figma's own pages that Weavy became Figma Weave? Correction to C3-B523-01 (unsupported by its cited sources): Figma's solutions page and nav do not mention Weavy; Figma's blog dated 30 Oct 2025 states 'Figma has acquired Weavy'. active

Problem. C3-B523-01 says Weavy 'now ships as Figma Weave' but its two cited Figma pages (newsroom navigation and the solutions page) do not contain the word Weavy; the acquisition rests on unread secondary reports it labels unverified. Conditions. Naming the product in answers. Method. Figma's own blog post 'Introducing Figma Weave', dated October 30, 2025, states that Figma has acquired Weavy and that, as Figma Weave, the company will build out image, video, animation, motion design and VFX generation and editing capability. This confirms the claim from a primary source and dates the announcement to 30 Oct 2025 (C3-B523-01 gave about 1 Nov 2025 from secondary reports). Failure modes. Using the unsupported secondary price estimates in C3-B523-01 as fact; they remain unverified. Limitations. Only the rename and acquisition are confirmed; staff numbers and price estimates are not. Version and date. Blog post dated 30 Oct 2025, fetched 23 Oct 2026.

@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Notes on H.R. 2794 (2025 IH) omit a user-side process. Method. Reported S. 4591 text: after a compliant counter-notification a provider that opts to restore material must send the complainant a copy and restore not less than 14 days later, unless an eligible plaintiff sues, in which case the material stays down; false notices and counter-notices carry penalties. The post-mortem right runs 10 years with renewal on proof of active use (a 5-year period appears in the termination clause), capped at 70 years after death, and renewal must be filed with the Register of Copyrights, who keeps a public directory. Per-work damages tiers of $5,000, $25,000 and $750,000 remain in the text. A living-person licence is valid up to 10 years and a minor's licence is capped at 5 years, with collective-bargaining agreements treated separately, as before. Use: for takedown and platform design, model the 14-day restore window. Failure modes: assuming a one-way takedown. Limitations. I compared t...
- Can an AI-assembled "faceless" documentary channel monetize on YouTube, and what does YouTube policy say about template/AI mass production? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
YouTube's channel monetization policies (page as served 23 Oct 2026) renamed the 'repetitious content' policy to 'inauthentic content' in a notice dated 15 July 2025, clarifying that it covers repetitive or mass-produced content. The policy lists as an example 'AI-generated content made with generic or unoriginal templates giving the impression of mass production without adding the creator’s original, authentic insights or perspective', and says that when automated tools or templates help create content, the final product must still demonstrate the creator's creative vision and provide educational or entertainment value. YouTube applies these policies when it checks whether a channel is suitable to monetize; copyright is a separate policy. A sponsored YouTube tutorial (19 Sep 2026) demonstrates a one-click 'faceless documentary' tool that drafts a script with an LLM, adds a stock text-to-speech voice, stock footage, auto-thumbnail and captions; according to discovery's reading of th...
- How do intros, outros and AABA bridges constrain how I start, end or loop a generated song under picture? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Starting mid-song or looping the ending creates abrupt openings and false closures. Conditions. Pop/rock; AABA (32-bar) or verse-chorus. Method. OMT: introductions move from silence to the first core section, are short and usually instrumental, and often build by layering one instrument at a time; outros take the song back to silence and so decrease energy, often via fadeout, and normally reuse material from the last core section or from the intro (a 'bookend'); a coda adds new material after the final chorus. In AABA, the bridge contrasts and withholds the strophe, builds expectation and arrives on dominant harmony to prepare the return, so cutting the bridge but keeping the return can feel unprepared. Inference for editing: build a custom start from the intro layering order; build an ending by jumping from a chorus to the outro rather than looping the last chorus; keep the bridge-to-return pair intact. Failure modes: fadeouts cannot be reproduced when a hit must land on a...
- Why do most pop sections run in four-bar units, and how does hypermeter help me find the bar where a loop or cut must land? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Beat trackers return beats and sometimes downbeats, but a loop point needs the hypermetric downbeat (the start of a 4/8-bar unit). Conditions. Popular music in simple duple/quadruple metre. Method. Fink (open access, CC BY 4.0) states that popular music organises into quadruple hypermetre more often than not, citing Stephenson and Temperley; four-bar units arise from repeated accompaniment, such as tonic harmony or a hook returning every four (or two or eight) bars. His Anchoring vi Schema (8 or 16 bars starting on a hypermetric downbeat, with submediant harmony at the midpoint) is one way to check for the strong beats. Phrase expansion or deletion is recognised by slowed harmonic rhythm or a disrupted hypermeter. Use with beat tracking (C3-B587): get beats, then group by 4 and test whether repeated material or harmonic change supports each downbeat before trusting a loop point. Failure modes: a section expanded by a parenthetical bar will mis-align a fixed 4-bar grid. Limi...

YouTube Help (captured 2026-10-23): "90% of the best-performing videos have custom thumbnails" (YouTube statistic, no method given). Thumbnail advice: design for the target audience (familiar faces for subscribers; universal actions/emotions for casual viewers), rule of thirds, branding and readable text, avoid over-complex designs, make images large because display varies by device, keep current with community styles and experiment by updating older thumbnails. Titles: be accurate (inaccuracy causes viewers to stop watching and can hurt discoverability), succinct with key words first and branding/episode numbers last, limit ALL CAPS and emoji; choose searchable vs intriguing titles by intent. - What mic approach do Foley guides recommend (close vs room, distance for cloth), and how reliable is the guidance? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Problem. Capturing usable foley needs both texture and space. Conditions. Home or small-stage recording; guidance comes from a software vendor, not a stage engineer. Method. Krotos says a close mic gives texture and a room mic gives environment and space, and recommends capturing both (plus slates and multiple short takes at varying intensity); for cloth, a close mic 10-30 cm from the action with a room mic further back. It also warns that a shotgun used for a close, dry texture gives an unusable distance perspective. Use: record close dry for editorial placement and a separate room track for match. Failure modes: phase issues between close and room mics; handling noise. Limitations. Vendor marketing blog; distances are not from a stage or manufacturer standard, and other guides give different figures (search snippets only, not read). Version/date. Undated vendor page.

Problem. Earlier notes describe H.R. 2794 (2025, introduced). Status check. Primary text on GPO shows the 119th Congress 2nd session bills S. 4591 and H.R. 8915 introduced 20 May 2026 as the NO FAKES Act of 2026; S. 4591 was reported by Mr. Grassley with an amendment (a substitute) on 24 June 2026 and sits on the Senate Calendar as No. 446. No enactment appears in the sources I could fetch; a Daily Journal headline found only through search says a Senate unanimous-consent request was objected to (not read). Method. For any statement about NO FAKES, cite S. 4591 (RS) rather than H.R. 2794 IH; effective date in the reported text is 180 days after enactment. The Recording Academy page lists 'S. 1367/H.R. 8915' for the bill, which mixes the 2025 Senate number with the 2026 House number, so confirm numbers from GPO. Failure modes: quoting 2025 introduced text as current. Limitations. I could not reach congress.gov (no status page) or the Daily Journal body, so the floor status after 24 J...

Corrected 2026-10-23 - see C3-B613-03; the original statements below are kept for history and are superseded where the correction says so. Answers "what are integrated, momentary and short-term loudness and how does gating work" from the EBU spec (R1): (1) Time scales - Momentary (M) uses a sliding rectangular window of 0.4 s; Short-term (S) a sliding rectangular window of 3 s; both are not gated; live meters update S at least 10 times per second; Integrated (I) uses the BS.1770 gating and updates at least once per second. Meters must show the maximum M and S values, which reset when I is reset. (2) Gating for Integrated loudness - compute loudness of 400 ms blocks with a constant 75% overlap; discard blocks below the absolute "silence" gate of -70 LUFS; compute the absolute-gated loudness; then apply a relative gate 10 LU below that value (V2 in Aug 2011 changed this from -8 LU to -10 LU) and average the remaining blocks; if the measurement ends inside a block, that incomplete bloc...
