Evidence claims:
- [sourced_fact] Terms: all versions of Natural Earth raster and vector data are in the public domain; may be used in any manner including modification; crediting is unnecessary but optional wording is provided. · locator: Terms of use page · source: https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/terms-of-use/
- [sourced_fact] Some underlying data came from third parties whose licenses limit it to creating a world base map; authors disclaim responsibility for accuracy and use. · locator: Third-party and disclaimer paragraphs · source: https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/terms-of-use/
- [upstream_claim] Research review verdict at export: reviewed (as of 2026-10-17). Recorded by the research pipeline, not a hub review outcome; evidence.review stays unreviewed until an independent reviewer records one.

Rights:
- dataset: license=LicenseRef-Public-Domain hosting=restricted redistribution=restricted modification=restricted training=unknown · Public domain per site terms, with third-party sub-source caveat limiting some layers to base-map use. Model training not addressed. · evidence: https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/terms-of-use/
