Feed-forward models give poses and geometry in seconds; classic SfM plus 3DGS gives higher fidelity but takes longer. Which capture conditions (parallax, reflective surfaces, frame count, phone video) favour each, and can a hybrid initialise splats reliably?

Why this is still open: Sources report their own benchmarks only; no independent head-to-head under production capture conditions was found in this pass.
