The official ComfyUI docs page for Wan2.1 VACE examples, as captured 2026-11-01, lists the VACE 14B and 1.3B diffusion models (about 32GB and about 7GB), the Wan 2.1 VAE and two umt5 text encoders, and says all examples share one template with bypassed inputs. For first-last-frame generation it says length minus 1 must be divisible by 4 and Batch_size must equal length minus 2. For reference-to-video it warns of errors when image dimensions are not divisible by 16. It marks the inpainting, outpainting and first-last-frame sections [To be updated], states 480p and 720p for the 14B text-to-video example and does not specify a maximum duration, and opens with a note that the document needs updating.

This record reads the official ComfyUI documentation page "ComfyUI Wan2.1 VACE Video Examples" (https://docs.comfy.org/tutorials/video/wan/vace) as captured on 2026-11-01 at 08:38 UTC (HTTP 200, 433,527 bytes of HTML; the server's Last-Modified header read Sun, 01 Nov 2026 08:30:06 GMT). It reports what the page says, and where the page itself marks a section unfinished. Nothing was run and no model or workflow was downloaded. The text was extracted from the HTML, so the screenshots that the page refers to ("the numbered steps in the image") were not read.

Currency note at the top. The page opens by saying the template was adjusted and instructions for a CausVid LoRA were added, that the document needs updating and needs some preparation time, and that until then readers should refer to the notes in the template for usage. Parts of the page may therefore differ from the current template.

The model (documented). The page describes VACE 14B as an open-source unified video editing model from the Alibaba Tongyi Wanxiang team, open-sourced under Apache-2.0 for personal or commercial use. Its listed features are multi-modal input (text, images, video, masks and control signals), one model for several freely combinable tasks, motion transfer from reference videos, local replacement through masks, video extension and background replacement. Two versions are named, 1.3B and 14B. A table marks 1.3B as 480P only and 14B as 480P and 720P, and the text says 14B gives 720P output with better detail and stability. Links are given for the weights of both versions, a GitHub repository and a project page; none was followed.

Files and folders (documented). All examples share one workflow template, and different examples switch inputs on or off by bypassing nodes. The page lists wan2.1_vace_14B_fp16.safetensors (called the recommended diffusion model, about 32GB) and wan2.1_vace_1.3B_fp16.safetensors (called lighter, about 7GB), both for ComfyUI/models/diffusion_models/; wan_2.1_vae.safetensors for models/vae/; and one of two text encoders for models/text_encoders/: umt5_xxl_fp16.safetensors (higher quality, larger) or umt5_xxl_fp8_e4m3fn_scaled.safetensors (lower VRAM use). Sizes are given only for the two diffusion models. The page says to make sure the Load Diffusion Model, Load CLIP and Load VAE nodes have loaded these files, and describes three ways to toggle a node's Bypass status: the arrow in the selection toolbox, right-click Mode then Always, and right-click Bypass.

Text-to-video (documented). The section says the 14B model supports 480p and 720p. Its steps are: enter a positive prompt, enter a negative prompt, set the image dimensions and frame count in the WanVaceToVideo node, then run with the Run button or Ctrl (cmd) + Enter; the video is saved under ComfyUI/output/video. It recommends 640x640 for a first run. It reports timings from its own testing on a 4090: 81 frames at 720x1280 took about 40 minutes and 49 frames at 640x640 about 7 minutes, and it says 720P quality is better. These are the page's numbers, not ours. The page also says that if a workflow cannot be loaded from an mp4 file, the ComfyUI front-end version must be current, and that 1.19.9 was then the latest front-end version in requirements.txt; that version number was not checked and may have changed.

Reference-to-video (documented). With the same workflow, the page says to unbypass the Load image node under Load reference image and input an image. It supplies an example file, video_wan_vace_14B_ref2v_reference_image.jpg, for a LoadImage node (node 73 is named), with the parameters already set in that file. The other steps match the text-to-video steps. The page warns that if you use nodes such as one that gets image dimensions to set the resolution, you may get error messages when the image dimensions are not divisible by 16, because of the width and height step requirements. It adds that VACE also supports several reference images placed in a single image and points to the project page for examples.

Video-to-video (documented). The inputs are a reference image and a control video. The supplied control video is already preprocessed (depth) and is used directly in the Load Video node under Load control video. For your own footage the page points to the Image preprocessing group or to comfyui_controlnet_aux preprocessing nodes. The steps are: load the reference image, load the control video, modify the prompts, set the size and frame count in WanVaceToVideo, then run.

Inpainting and outpainting (unfinished on the page). The inpainting section describes editing regions of a video while keeping the rest, and lists three input materials: an input video, a first frame with a mask overlay and a reference image. The outpainting section describes extending the video size and lists an input video. Each section ends with the marker [To be updated], and the page gives no steps for either.

First-last frame (partly unfinished on the page). The section says the start and end frames define the transition and that custom keyframe sequences are supported. For the first and last frames to take effect, the page says the video length setting must satisfy that length minus 1 is divisible by 4, and that the corresponding Batch_size must equal length minus 2. The section then ends with [To be updated]. The page gives no example values and does not say what happens if the rule is not met.

Stated limits. The page states 480P and 720P support for the 14B version (and 480P only for 1.3B), the 640x640 first-run recommendation, the two 4090 timing examples, the multiple-of-16 note for image dimensions and the length and Batch_size rule above. The captured page specifies neither a maximum duration nor a VRAM requirement.

Related records. The library already holds a question-and-answer record on the same documentation page, "What constraints does ComfyUI's Wan2.1 VACE guide state for frame count, batch size, resolution and run time" (art_01M5NPXF51QJG43ZPXCCZG2T9D), built from a fetch on 2026-10-23 of the page's .md address. The figures compared here (the two diffusion model sizes, 480p and 720p support, the length minus 1 and Batch_size rules, the multiple-of-16 note and the two 4090 timings) agree with it. This record is the page-level source record from an exact 2026-11-01 capture, and it adds the [To be updated] markers, the front-end 1.19.9 line and the example input file name. A Wan 2.2 14B first-last-frame template record (art_01M62CYQCBD28QM44WXDWGTS1B) covers a different model and is linked, not repeated.

Not established here. The numbered-step screenshots and example media on the page; the linked project page, repositories and weights; whether the page matches the current template; whether the 1.3B model works with the same workflow; and the behaviour of any workflow, which was not run.
