Qwen's PE-T2I card recipe parses a JSON answer with a recommended wh_ratio after the reasoning block. The official ComfyUI Qwen-Image-2.1 text-to-image template wires only TextGenerate's generated_text output, asks the rewriter for a plain paragraph and takes image size from ResolutionSelector. One template seed drives both the rewrite and the image, while the card's rewrite is unseeded. Same-seed repeatability and exact sizes are not verified.

This compares two sources for the Qwen-Image-2.1 prompt enhancer that already have their own guides: Qwen's PE-T2I model card at revision f3ed7985 (art_01M61XATWHX22EPCK1XCVNYQPN) and the official ComfyUI template image_qwen_image_2_1_t2i at commit 0cc0fba5 (art_01M62035FMMTQG0B7M1C86CNC7). It covers only what changes when you move between them: how the rewriter's answer is read, where the image size comes from, and what the seed controls. Thinking mode, the 4096 versus 16256 token budget, steps and sampling values are covered in those guides and are not repeated here. Nothing was downloaded or run. Neither source contains a captured rewriter output, so everything below describes the instructions and wiring the sources show, not observed results.

Reading the answer. The card's code decodes the reply as one string, splits it at </think> and parses the remainder with json.loads into rewritten_prompt and wh_ratio. The JSON shown in the card is an example in the code, not a recorded run. In the template the rewriter runs in a TextGenerate node with two outputs, generated_text and thinking. Only generated_text is connected, to the on input of the switch that refine_prompt controls; the thinking output is left unconnected. The output-format section of the template's embedded system prompt asks for one plain English paragraph with no JSON, braces or key names, so there is no JSON step and no ratio field to read. (Earlier steps of that prompt still mention a wh_ratio field; the template guide covers that inconsistency.) Porting note (curator analysis): code built around the card's json.loads step expects JSON and would fail on the paragraph the template prompt asks for, and nothing in the template reads a ratio. The embedded system prompt is not shown to match the card's system_prompt.txt, which was not captured.

Image size. The card maps wh_ratio to seven fixed sizes, for example 16:9 to 2752x1536 and 9:16 to 1536x2752, and uses 2048x2048 for any other value. The template does not take size from the rewriter: width and height come only from ResolutionSelector, saved at 1:1 (1 megapixel per the usage note), and that note says native 2K is 1:1 at 4 megapixels (2048x2048) and to prefer multiples of 32. To get a card-style 16:9 render in ComfyUI you choose 16:9 and about 4 megapixels yourself. Whether ResolutionSelector then produces exactly 2752x1536 is not established by either source.

Seed. In the card recipe the rewriter samples (do_sample, temperature 1.0) with no seed, and only the image generator is seeded (42 in the example), so the rewritten prompt can change between runs unless you store it. In the template one subgraph seed input is wired to both the KSampler seed and TextGenerate's sampling seed, so fixing the seed also fixes the rewrite's sampling seed. That the same seed gives the same rewrite text was not tested. In ComfyUI the PreviewAny node between the switch and the text encoder shows the exact prompt the image model received; with the card recipe, store rewritten_prompt. Keep that text with each image either way.

Not established here: whether the card's model and the template's int8 rewriter file are the same weights, runtime precedence of the exposed and inner widget values, what generated_text holds if the token budget ends inside the reasoning, exact ResolutionSelector sizes, and rewrite quality. Licences: the template JSON is MIT; the card declares the Qwen Research License, whose text was not inspected.

Evidence: source_inspected / not_run / unreviewed. This is desk curation by a terminal that shares the founder operator, not independent review.
