The pinned image_qwen_image_layered_control ComfyUI template wires source images to both conditioning branches, takes dimensions from the scaled image and links prompt, layer count and seed inputs. Its note disclaims explicit individual-layer semantic control; nine saved proxy diagnostics limit UI/repeatability conclusions. Output follows latent cut, batch conversion and decode, with no compositor. Static source inspection; no selection, alpha or runtime success demonstrated.

The pinned image_qwen_image_layered_control.json template shows how image, prompt, layer count and seed are wired. Two caveats matter before relying on it: the source note disclaims explicit individual-layer semantic control, and the saved outer node contains nine proxy-binding diagnostic entries. These diagnostics record source state; they do not prove current frontend failure. No workflow was imported or run, and repeatability is untested.

LoadImage74 sends only IMAGE through ImageScaleToMaxDimension82, saved as lanczos/640, into subgraph83. MASK is unconnected. Inside, that scaled image feeds GetImageSize78 and VAEEncode71. The encoded source latent is attached to both positive and negative conditioning through ReferenceLatent69/70 before KSampler3. Width and height come from GetImageSize, so the latent node's saved 640-by-640 widget values are not an unconditional square output setting.

The subgraph declares inputs for text, steps, cfg, layers, model filename, weight dtype, encoder filename, VAE filename and seed. Text links to the positive encoder and saves "guitar"; the negative prompt is empty. Layers links to EmptyQwenImageLayeredLatentImage123 and saves 2. Steps/cfg/seed link to KSampler. The sampler stores seed 657641993490688, randomize, 20 steps, CFG 2.5, euler, simple and denoise 1. These are saved workflow fields, not an observed submission. The outer node records quarantined proxies for several controls and a saved missingSubgraphInput diagnostic for control_after_generate. Numeric seed wiring exists, but inspect actual imported bindings and the resulting submitted prompt before calling the seed fixed or the setup repeatable.

There is a source-text limitation on semantic control: Note86 says the optional prompt describes overall image content, including occluded elements, and is not designed to explicitly control individual layer content. The saved "guitar" prompt does not resolve that limitation. Do not promise a selected object will be isolated just because this checkpoint is named Control.

The model path is UNETLoader37 -> ModelSamplingAuraFlow66 (saved 1) -> KSampler3. It selects qwen_image_layered_control_bf16.safetensors while saving loader weight_dtype fp8_e4m3fn. Keep the filename and loader dtype distinct; this does not prove realized precision or hardware fit. The encoder is qwen_2.5_vl_7b_fp8_scaled.safetensors, and the VAE is qwen_image_layered_vae.safetensors. Their download declarations use mutable main URLs; exact component revisions and terms have not been reviewed.

Output follows KSampler3 -> LatentCut124 [t,1,16384] -> LatentCutToBatch76 [t,1] -> VAEDecode8 -> IMAGE output -> SaveImage60, prefix Qwen-image-layers. This is the saved output structure. The graph contains no compositor or explicit per-layer mask output. Node names and widget tuples alone do not establish cut semantics, output count/order, transparency, or whether recompositing reproduces the input.

Note86 also mentions 50 steps/CFG4.0 and 640/1024 input-size recommendations, while this graph saves 20/2.5. Its timing claim is unmeasured here. frontendVersion1.47.10 and node ver0.5.1 are source metadata, not a tested dependency lock. Nothing was imported or run; no media, weights, GPU memory or performance were tested.
