Content note: Pony Diffusion V6 XL is an SDXL fine-tune that can produce both SFW and NSFW images. This record covers only its technical setup; use the rating_safe tag to steer toward safe output.

Required setting: load it with clip skip 2 (-2 in some software); otherwise it produces low-quality blobs.

Prompting: the default template is "score_9, score_8_up, score_7_up, score_6_up, score_5_up, score_4_up, <describe what you want>, tag1, tag2". The long score string is a training quirk of V6; score_9 alone still works but much more weakly. Usually no negative prompt and no extra quality words such as "hd" or "masterpiece" are needed. Data-selection tags are source_pony, source_furry, source_cartoon and source_anime; rating tags are rating_safe, rating_questionable and rating_explicit. For pony style, start with "anthro/feral pony, ..." or "source_pony, ...". Natural language and tags both work; tags added after the description boost those features. Many characters and series are recognised.

Settings: Euler a, 25 steps, 1024px; most SDXL resolutions work. Known issue: pseudo-signatures that negative prompts cannot remove; the author suggests V5.5 or inpainting.

Training: about 2.6M aesthetically ranked images, roughly balanced across anime, cartoon, furry and pony sources and across safe/questionable/explicit ratings, about half with detailed captions. Artist names were removed, data was filtered through an opt-in/opt-out programme, and explicit content involving underage characters was filtered out.

Licence: this re-upload's metadata says cdla-permissive-2.0, but the card text states the model is under a modified Fair AI Public License 1.0-SD: no inference on websites or apps with any monetization (paid inference, faster tiers), including derivatives and merges; commercial use needs permission from PurpleSmartAI (contact@purplesmart.ai); CivitAI and Hugging Face have explicit permission for commercial inference. The original release is civitai.com/models/257749. Use only for lawful content and never to sexualize real people without consent.
