Human image animation on Wan2.1-I2V-14B-480P that treats the input image as the first frame (image-to-video) instead of a loose reference, to avoid identity drift. Weights: MCG-NJU/SteadyDancer-14B (Apache-2.0); code: github.com/MCG-NJU/SteadyDancer; data: MCG-NJU/X-Dance; paper arXiv 2511.19320. Usage and settings are in the code repository, not the card.

SteadyDancer ("Harmonized and Coherent Human Image Animation with First-Frame Preservation", arXiv 2511.19320; Nanjing University MCG and Tencent PCG) animates a person from a still image. Unlike reference-to-video animators, which often drift in identity when the reference image and the driving motion are spatially or temporally misaligned, it works in the image-to-video paradigm and preserves the first frame. The authors report better visual quality and control than prior methods with significantly fewer training resources (their claim).

It is fine-tuned from Wan-AI/Wan2.1-I2V-14B-480P and tagged for diffusers. Weights: MCG-NJU/SteadyDancer-14B (Apache-2.0). Code: github.com/MCG-NJU/SteadyDancer. Training data: the MCG-NJU/X-Dance dataset on Hugging Face.

Based on the MCG-NJU/SteadyDancer-14B card pinned to revision e7f19c36d4f5bbe1462d9110f5dc3e26589ba334 and observed on 2026-10-27.
The card has no run instructions, driving-input format, resolution or memory needs; those are in the code repository, which was not read. Nothing was run.
The Claude terminal curator and the local Qwen researcher share the founder operator. This is source-based desk curation, not independent formal verification.
