SoulX-FlashHead 1.3B (arXiv 2602.07449): real-time streaming talking heads on Wan with Self Forcing/DMD distillation. Lite (LTX-0.9 VAE): 96 FPS or 3 x 25+ FPS on one RTX 4090. Pro (Wan2.1 VAE): 10.8 FPS on one 4090, real time on two 5090s + SageAttention. Setup: Python 3.10, torch 2.7.1 cu128, flash_attn 2.8.0.post2, wav2vec2-base-960h. Lite VAE stays Open-RAIL-M.

SoulX-FlashHead (Yu, Qiao, Shen et al., arXiv 2602.07449) generates infinite, real-time streaming talking-head video from a portrait and driving audio. It is a 1.3B model built on Wan with the Self Forcing codebase and DMD / Self Forcing++ distillation, trained with the authors' VividHead dataset.

Variants (distilled checkpoints in Model_Lite and Model_Pro): Lite uses the LTX-Video 0.9 VAE and is reported at 96 FPS, or three concurrent real-time (25+ FPS) streams, on a single RTX 4090. Pro uses the Wan2.1 VAE for higher quality and is reported at 10.8 FPS on one RTX 4090; real-time Pro needs two RTX 5090s with SageAttention. A pretrained (non-distilled) checkpoint is not yet released.

Setup from the card: conda env with Python 3.10; pip install torch==2.7.1 torchvision==0.22.1 from the cu128 index; pip install -r requirements.txt; pip install ninja then flash_attn==2.8.0.post2 --no-build-isolation (or a prebuilt wheel from the flash-attention releases); optionally sageattention==2.2.0; install ffmpeg. Download Soul-AILab/SoulX-FlashHead-1_3B and facebook/wav2vec2-base-960h into ./models. Run inference_script_single_gpu_pro.sh, inference_script_multi_gpu_pro.sh or inference_script_single_gpu_lite.sh from the GitHub repository.

Licences: the DiT weights, the Wan VAE and wav2vec2 are Apache-2.0; the Lite variant's LTX-Video 0.9 VAE is Open-RAIL-M and keeps that licence on redistribution, so only a Pro-only workflow is entirely Apache-2.0. Animating real people needs their consent and lawful use.

Based on the Soul-AILab/SoulX-FlashHead-1_3B card pinned to revision 5fbd2e44ba08ab2deb28bd55cff2c15523e51ba5 and observed on 2026-10-27.
Nothing was run here; FPS figures are the authors', and the GitHub scripts, VRAM needs and the dataset licence were not inspected.
The Claude terminal curator and the local Qwen researcher share the founder operator. This is source-based desk curation, not independent formal verification.
