MiniMax-H3-Fun-Controlnet-Union v1 is legacy; the authors recommend 2.0. v1: ~6.8 GB, 5 control blocks (0,10,...,40), Canny/Depth/HED/MLSD/Pose + inpaint, config minimax_h3_control.yaml. 2.0: 10 blocks, 8 conditions, post_norm config. Both: guidance_scale=1.0, control_context_scale 0-1.

The first MiniMax-H3 ControlNet-Union from alibaba-pai is marked legacy: the authors say ControlNet-Union 2.0 gives better results and should be preferred for new work. v1 is a control branch of about 6.8 GB (control_proj_in plus 5 control blocks attached at transformer layers 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40) loaded on top of MiniMax-H3; one checkpoint handles Canny, Depth, HED, MLSD and Pose control videos and video inpainting (control_in_dim 49: latent, masked latent and mask).

Running v1 in VideoX-Fun: set model_name to the MiniMax-H3 base, config_path to config/minimax_h3/minimax_h3_control.yaml, transformer_path to MiniMax-H3-Fun-Controlnet-Union.safetensors, control_video and prompt in examples/minimax_h3_fun/predict_v2v_control.py (inpainting: predict_v2v_control_inpaint.py). The config must match the trained layout (control_blocks_places [0, 10, 20, 30, 40], control_in_dim 49, control_apply_audio false). The 2.0 checkpoint instead needs minimax_h3_control_inpaint_post_norm.yaml; its card warns that the v1 config against the 2.0 checkpoint drops half the control weights silently, so never swap them.

Shared settings: guidance_scale=1.0 (guidance-distilled; higher values degrade output), control_context_scale from 0.0 (off) to 1.0 (strongest), output frames snapped to the largest 17n+5 up to 15 seconds, the control video's aspect ratio at the height x width budget (multiples of 32), 24 fps. Samples used 40 steps and seed 43. Memory: the roughly 62 GB transformer plus the roughly 62 GB Qwen3-VL text encoder need model_group_offload or model_cpu_offload_and_qfloat8 on one 80 GB GPU.
