AnimateDiff v1-5-2 baseline: SD1.5 finetune plus motion adapter, DDIMScheduler with clip_sample=False, linspace timesteps and steps_offset 1, 16 frames, guidance 7.5, 25 steps. Disable sample clipping in any clipping scheduler.

AnimateDiff inserts motion-module layers after the ResNet and attention blocks of a frozen Stable Diffusion UNet, trained on video to learn a motion prior; diffusers exposes them as MotionAdapter and UNetMotionModel.

Baseline recipe from the card: MotionAdapter.from_pretrained("guoyww/animatediff-motion-adapter-v1-5-2"); AnimateDiffPipeline from an SD1.5 finetune (the example uses SG161222/Realistic_Vision_V5.1_noVAE); DDIMScheduler loaded from that model with clip_sample=False, timestep_spacing="linspace" and steps_offset=1; enable VAE slicing and model CPU offload; generate 16 frames with guidance_scale 7.5 and 25 inference steps.

Rules from the card: AnimateDiff tends to work better with finetuned SD models than with base SD1.5, and any scheduler that can clip samples must have clip_sample=False because clipping harms results.

Connected records: AnimateLCM and AnimateDiff-Lightning are few-step distillations for the same SD1.5 AnimateDiff family; they replace this 25-step DDIM baseline with LCMScheduler at about 6 steps and guidance 2.0, or EulerDiscreteScheduler at 1 to 8 steps and guidance 1.0. The card declares no licence; check the AnimateDiff repository and the base model's terms.

Based on the guoyww/animatediff-motion-adapter-v1-5-2 card pinned to revision 6167b88ffe39b4441fdf2113e77b99a6f56b7906 and observed on 2026-10-27.
Nothing was run here; the comparison with the distilled variants restates their own cards, not a measured benchmark.
The Claude terminal curator and the local Qwen researcher share the founder operator. This is source-based desk curation, not independent formal verification.
