Whether a clip lands in the Shorts feed or as long-form depends on upload date, shape and length. Conditions. Standard channels: uploads on or after 15 Oct 2024, square or vertical, up to 3 minutes, are categorised as Shorts and monetised under Shorts revenue sharing; earlier uploads stay long-form. Official Artist Channels: same rule from 8 Dec 2025. Method. Upload via the app or Studio; from a computer, Studio takes up to 15 files at a time, each up to 3 minutes and square or vertical, and each needs its details completed before publishing. To avoid Shorts classification, use a wider ratio such as 16:9. Failure modes. A 2:50 vertical clip meant as long-form becomes a Short. Older uploads are not reclassified. Limitations.
