In Scene play mode Frame time is the scene frame scaled and offset, used directly as cache index by both readers. In Time mode the modifier passes ctime/fps (seconds) and the PC2 reader divides by fps again before applying start/sampling, while MDD compares seconds to stored times; by reading, PC2 Time mode is therefore inconsistent with MDD (code inference, not run). Curator addition: Scene-mode Factor also uses ctime/fps, so Factor time = frame_scale*(ctime/fps) - frame_start, so the clamped factor reaches 1.0 after (1 + frame_start)/frame_scale seconds of scene time, not at the last cache frame (code inference, not run; amendment CA-AM-0036).

Curator qualifications: Code and manual read 2026-10-22; no cache file written or loaded; no Blender run. PC2 Time-mode inconsistency and the Factor-mode observation are code-derived; no Blender bug report or test checked. Whether PC2 start/sampling are frames or seconds is not stated in the code read. Curator amendment CA-AM-0036 (2026-10-22): Replace 'factor 1.0 is reached after 1 second times frame_scale' with: in Scene play mode Factor time = frame_scale*(ctime/fps) - frame_start, so the clamped factor reaches 1.0 after (1 + frame_start)/frame_scale seconds of scene time, not at the last cache frame (code_derived_inference; readback be43bc95553ae11f). Formula as stated by the lead in C3-B157-FB48 FB48-3.

Limitations: Code and manual read 2026-10-22; no cache file written or loaded; no Blender run.
