The otio-aaf-adapter reader (47886982) contains no volume or gain handling (curator whole-file search: 0 hits), so AAF clip gain is not mapped into OTIO by the reader.

The otio-aaf-adapter reader (47886982) contains no volume or gain handling (curator whole-file search: 0 hits), so AAF clip gain is not mapped into OTIO by the reader.

Curator qualifications: Writer-side claims (Pan only, mono 16-bit default descriptor, embeddable formats) not reinspected: curator GET of adapters/aaf_writer.py returned 404 at the guessed path. Audio track mapping, dissolve handling, media-linking issues and release/maintenance (F0, F3-F7) not reinspected. Static reading only. Curator amendment CA-AM-0091 (2026-10-22): Writer located: the tree at 47886982 (gh api git/trees, GET 2026-10-22) puts it at src/otio_aaf_adapter/adapters/aaf_adapter/aaf_writer.py (blob e19458a9, 62,265 bytes; curator readback 462248900c4be4f6). Writer claims verified by code reading. (1) The audio sourceclip registers a single 'Pan' ParameterDef with linear interpolation and reads Pan control points from clip metadata AAF.Pan (lines ~1333-1393). The writer contains no volume or gain handling: 0 whole-word hits; the one substring hit is 'against' at line 566. (2) The audio default_descriptor is a PCMDescriptor whose defaults are SampleRate 48000, AudioSamplingRate 48000, QuantizationBits 16, Channels 1, BlockAlign 2, AverageBPS 96000, each overridable from media-reference metadata AAF.EssenceDescription (lines 1410-1435). So the default is mono 16-bit 48 kHz. (3) Essence embedding accepts .aaf (mobs and essence copied) and .dnx/.wav (imported), and any other suffix raises AAFAdapterError 'Only .aaf / .dnx / .wav files are supported' (lines 697-712). (4) ParameterDef_Level appears only in transition handling (lines ~1446-1459). F0 and F3-F7 (track mapping, dissolves, media linking, maintenance) remain unreinspected. Nothing executed.

Limitations: Static reading only.

Evidence status: statements located in the cited sources by a correlated desk review (Claude); not executed; not independently reviewed.
