The fontTools subsetter's own help (commit 16f88cb) says its default keeps locl and the features required for script shaping and all scripts, but anything else (e.g. onum, pnum, ss01, per the help's own example) must be added; the glyph set is closed over kept features unless --no-layout-closure is used. By default only name IDs 0-6 and English name records are kept, so the licence description (ID 13) and licence URL (ID 14) of OpenType 1.9.1 do not survive a default subset. WOFF 1.0 leaves font tables unchanged but its extended metadata (licence, licensee, credits) is informational and cannot change rendering. A subset handoff therefore needs the original font hash, the subsetter options, and the licence kept outside the font. Nothing was executed.

Curator qualifications: Default subsetting keeps locl/shaping features but drops name IDs 13/14 (licence text and URL) and non-English names; stylistic features (onum, pnum, ss01) must be added. Curator readback (sha 1f175ed6).
