Per the C2PA 2.4 version history: 2.1 added ingredients v3, BMFF v3 hashing, time-stamp manifests and a URN namespace; 2.2 added the Soft Binding Resolution API and ingredient fields for soft-binding manifest recovery; 2.3 deprecated older actions and ingredient versions and added soft-binding validation; 2.4 (April 2026) added crJSON, repository-receipt, environmental-sustainability and AI-disclosure assertions, plus HTML and structured-text embedding. The data-mining assertion was removed in 2.0, and that topic now lives in CAWG. The spec site root redirects to 2.4, so cite 2.4 with its version and date, and older versions only for history.
