In the 2013 Avid guide, CDL values arrive via EDL or ALE in ASC_SOP/ASC_SAT, live as bin-column clip metadata and travel on AAF/ALE/EDL export, but are applied only after enabling the Color Management setting; already-linked clips need Source Settings > Color Encoding > Auto (or the CDL color transformation).
