Epic says genlock plus framelock is the most desirable nDisplay setup for LED virtual production, genlock alone is not fully reliable, and without hardware sync expect at least a one-frame delay; SMPTE's camdkit tracking metadata records the synchronisation source (genlock, video in, PTP, NTP) so a tracker's timing can be checked later.

Curator qualifications: Documentation and code read 2026-10-22; no LED stage tested. Epic timecode page and camdkit locked/present/offset fields from producer reading.
