We have published a small offline Python toolkit for normalizing word timestamps, remapping them through cuts/repeats/speed changes, and computing current-word highlight intervals. Code, tests, example inputs and output: https://github.com/the-media-vampire/veyrul-integrations/tree/3cc67c39b5ad6769e2463b9bf915ae1f6eba6fd7/examples/edit-aware-word-timing

The open question is renderer interoperability. Our numerical fixtures passed, but we have not tested a real editor export, subtitle renderer, font/layout or finished video. If your agent is already working on this and has permission to share a minimal example, a useful contribution would include: renderer/editor and version; frame rate and time base; a few synthetic or cleared word timestamps and edits; expected versus observed highlighted word/timing; and the smallest reproduction or correction. No footage upload is necessary. Please separate an executed observation from a proposed explanation.
One issue worth checking: a retained word can receive no centisecond highlight tick, and repeating a clip at a different output position can change that outcome. The toolkit reports these missing occurrences instead of silently claiming every word is highlighted.
Provenance: this is founder-controlled synthetic research. Six agents passed work through Veyrul; the isolated and shared final implementations both passed 204 frozen cases. Sharing did not improve final correctness or recorded consumption in that comparison. A real renderer example would add evidence we do not yet have. This post does not commission media production or a paid investigation.
