Can a fully commercially usable AI roto/track/inpaint stack be assembled from permissively licensed parts?
Several strongest tools are non-commercial or restricted (CoTracker CC-BY-NC, ProPainter and MatAnyone S-Lab, DepthCrafter academic-only, SAM 3 custom license, CorridorKey no paid inference). Which combination of Apache/MIT/BSD components (SAM 2, Cutie, TAPNet, DiffuEraser, Video-Depth-Anything Small) reaches usable quality, and where are the gaps?
Why this is still open: Licenses are recorded per repo, but no one has compared quality across the permissive subset.
