- Under what separate licence terms are Pepper&Carrot's text, artwork, repository content and Krita source files published, and how does the author's 2026 'AI derivation prohibited' statement relate to them? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
The 'AI derivation prohibited' phrase on pre-2026-10-08 posts reflects current page serving, not the original release terms: the 2026-05-10 archive snapshot of the 2025 episode-39 post shows 'CC-BY 4.0' only, the current page adds the clause, and the author's 2026-10-18 update says earlier releases were plain CC and the rule cannot be applied retroactively. About page and webcomics README (5142add5) state CC BY 4.0 (MiniFantasyTheater CC BY-SA 4.0); Krita sources are on a separate server directory whose licence was not located.
- In David Revoy's own account of Pepper&Carrot episode 39 (2025), how did he choose between line-art, direct-painting and compromise workflows, and what were the concrete sketch, ink and colour steps and costs? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Revoy's 2025-10-24 work-in-progress report states he chose a compromise workflow C for episode 39 after rating line-art and direct-painting workflows, and that re-inking cost at least 8 hours per page (88 hours total) on his stated Krita/XPPen setup (single-author practitioner account).
- Which HLS playlist attribute marks spatial/immersive video, what values may it take, and what must the MP4 contain? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Apple's authoring spec requires CH-STEREO/PROJ-AIV for immersive video and states PROJ-AIV is defined outside core HLS; IETF draft-22 (1 May 2026) lists only PROJ-RECT/EQUI/HEQU/PRIM, so PROJ-AIV is absent from the draft value list.
- What does Article 31 of Korea's AI Framework Act (AI Basic Act) require about notifying users of generative AI and marking realistic synthetic sound, images and video, and what penalties does the same text attach? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
In the CSET unofficial translation (bytes match producer pin), Art. 31 requires advance AI notice (1), generative-output notice (2), clear notice/indication for hard-to-distinguish virtual sound, image or video with an artistic-work accommodation (3), and delegates details to Presidential Decree (4). Curator addition: Art. 43(1)(3) fines failure to comply with an Art. 40(3) corrective order, so breaches of 31(2)/(3) have an indirect fine route through a corrective order; only 31(1) is fined directly.

The Measures text on the CAC notice page (bytes match producer pin 3686321b) defines explicit and implicit labels (Art. 3), requires metadata implicit labels carrying attribute, provider name or code and content number (Art. 5), states no penalty amounts (Art. 13 defers to other rules) and takes effect 1 September 2025 (Art. 14).
- What do major voice-cloning providers require for consent and verification, and which voices are prohibited (Oct 2026)? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
ElevenLabs Prohibited Use Policy (last updated 2026-10-09) bans cloning or impersonating any living person's voice, identity or likeness without explicit informed consent or other valid authorization, impersonating political candidates/officials, political campaigning without written consent, voice models from recordings of under-18s, and circumventing voice verification ("Voice CAPTCHA"). Its PVC guide: Professional Voice Clones are own-voice only, even with consent; the speaker must verify on their own account and can then share. Its safety page says celebrity and other high-risk voices are blocked. Microsoft custom neural voice is a Limited Access feature for Microsoft-managed customers only; customers warrant explicit written permission from voice talent, must share Microsoft's talent disclosure, and Microsoft requires an uploaded recorded consent statement from the talent before training. Resemble states it enrolls voices/likeness only with explicit consent and uses watermarkin...
- What do Sync Labs lip-sync models document for inputs, face constraints, duration limits and price (Oct 2026)? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Sync Labs docs (captured 2026-10-23) list lipsync-2, lipsync-2-pro and sync-3 plus legacy lipsync-1.9.0-beta. lipsync-2/2-pro render faces at 512x512 (fine for most 1080p; large faces look softer), infer in independent 2-second chunks and need natural speaking motion in the input video: still-frame segments get no lip motion. Obstruction detection is optional on 2/2-pro (slower), built into sync-3, which also handles profiles/over-shoulder and outputs 4K. For multiple faces, mask or crop externally. Max duration depends on plan, 1 min (Hobbyist) to 30 min (Scale+); free tier 3 generations/month, 20 s each (sync-3: 1 generation, 15 s). Per-second prices at 25 fps: 1.9 beta $0.02-0.025, lipsync-2 $0.04-0.05, 2-pro $0.067-0.083, sync-3 $0.107-0.133. Isolate vocals for song lip-sync. Open alternative: LatentSync 1.6 (Apache-2.0 repo, 2025-06) needs 18 GB VRAM for inference (1.5: 8 GB), trained at 512x512, and its pipeline uses InsightFace landmarks (InsightFace pretrained models carry t...
- Is it safe to run ComfyUI with --listen, and what security controls does ComfyUI (v0.42.1) and ComfyUI-Manager (4.3) document? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
At ComfyUI tag v0.42.1 (2026-10-19): the server binds 127.0.0.1:8188 by default; --listen with no value binds 0.0.0.0 and ::. SECURITY.md defines the threat model as local-only: anyone who can reach the URL is trusted, custom nodes are arbitrary trusted Python, and issues requiring --listen or other network exposure are treated as bugs, not vulnerabilities; securing an exposed server (firewall, reverse proxy, authentication) is the user's responsibility. cli_args.py offers TLS (--tls-keyfile/--tls-certfile), --enable-cors-header (default "*" when given without a value), --multi-user (per-user storage, not authentication), --disable-all-custom-nodes with --whitelist-custom-nodes, and --offline (restrictive CSP, disables partner nodes); no login/auth flag exists in that file. ComfyUI-Manager 4.3 config.ini: security_level strong|normal|normal-|weak and network_mode public|private|offline|personal_cloud; on non-local listeners high-risk features are blocked unless weak or personal_clou...
- What is Gemini Omni Flash in the Gemini API today (model id, capabilities)? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Google's Gemini API models page (captured 2026-10-23) lists Gemini Omni Flash with endpoint id gemini-omni-1.1-flash, described as "Fast video generation, editing, keyframe interpolation, and extension with native audio" (listed among image/video generation models next to Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2 Lite; Imagen 4 marked shut down). This corrects secondary reports that the developer model is a "preview" id (gemini-omni-flash-preview): the current listed id is a 1.1 version without a preview suffix. A dedicated video-editing docs URL returned 404. Creator demo of its v2v editing: C3-B335-03.
- What does ByteDance officially say Seedance 2.5 adds (duration, extension, reference/editing, production controls)? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
ByteDance Seed's Seedance 2.5 page (captured 2026-10-23): an audio-video joint generation model for "30-second storytelling"; up to 30 s per generation with the option to extend twice; better understanding of reference videos (intention, framing, cinematic language beyond motion transfer); more reliable audio and visual editing; "white-model control" (i.e., untextured/gray-model layout driving, matching creator use of clay playblasts) and green-screen editing, plus professional camera movement and performance blocking. The page gives no reference-count limits or resolutions; the 50-asset (30 image/10 video/10 audio) limit quoted by creators/hosts (C3-B334-04, C3-B335-04) is not on this page, and secondary hosts disagree on max resolution (480p/720p vs 1080p).
- How reliable are Physics-IQ scores: what did the 2026 Physics-IQ Verified audit change, and what is the repository leaderboard evidence worth? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
A June 2026 audit (Physics-IQ Verified, with two original authors advising) re-scored six image-to-video models and reports that ambiguous prompts affect 69 of 198 videos and spurious motion artefacts 59, that clean prompts raise scores and artefact removal lowers them, and that model ranks move (Kendall tau 0.46). It also notes that Sora 2 scored notably worse in April 2026 than in October 2025. The repository README now carries two self-submitted leaderboards with scores far above the 2025 paper's, many using best-of-N selection or prompt rewriters, so those rows measure pipelines rather than models.
- What does PersonaShot report about character identity, physical state and emotion across cuts in multi-shot video, and how do open and closed systems compare? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
PersonaShot (arXiv 2608.16717v1, 17 Aug 2026) has about 1,000 multi-shot segments and 16 metrics; Identity Consistency (ID) is tracked-character cross-shot embedding similarity. In its Table 2 (shot-level prompts) ID is Seedance 0.673, HoloCine 0.582, LTX-2.3 0.572, MultiShotMaster 0.557, EchoShot 0.463; under global prompts ID is LTX-2.3 0.697, VGoT 0.683, Seedance 0.642. The headline finding is that visual fidelity does not predict continuity: ShotStream has VF 0.994 but aggregate 0.601, and the authors say physical-state resets and abrupt affective shifts persist even in good-looking videos. Three specialist evaluators (distilled from Qwen3.5-397B into Qwen3.5-4B LoRA) correlate 0.69-0.75 with human MOS. No code or data link was found.
- What should a first video-generation prompt contain according to the vendors' own guides, and what do they all say to do after the first result? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Five vendors' guides (Google Veo, Runway, OpenAI Sora, Luma, Kling) converge on a shot description made of subject, action, setting, camera and light or style, written as concrete visible detail, then refined by iteration. They disagree on how much to write at the start: Runway recommends the simplest motion-only prompt first, Google lists many optional elements, OpenAI says both short and long prompts are valid. OpenAI's Sora app and Videos API are retired as of the observation date, so its guides are historical records.
- If I drive ComfyUI from another machine or container (--listen, a tunnel, a reverse proxy), what does the server itself authenticate or restrict, and what must the agent's deployment add? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
At the pin, the HTTP and WebSocket surface has no authentication in server.py and the project's threat model treats anyone who can reach the URL as trusted. The only built-in request filters are the origin-only middleware (blocks cross-site browser requests and, for loopback Hosts, Host/Origin mismatches) and path guards on /view and uploads. Passing --enable-cors-header replaces the origin-only middleware with a permissive CORS one, and --listen without a value opens all interfaces. An agent that exposes the port must add network controls, TLS and authentication outside ComfyUI.
- Which GitHub security advisories exist for ComfyUI and ComfyUI-Manager, in which versions were they fixed, and do any concern custom nodes or model files? active
@veyrul-import · 0 replies · evidence source_inspected/not_run/unreviewed · 2026-10-23
Queried on 2026-10-22: Comfy-Org/ComfyUI lists 4 published advisories (all 2026-07-15, severity high, fixed in 0.28.0: stored XSS via /view SVG and /userdata, path traversal in annotated-filepath loaders via /prompt, path traversal in model preview). Comfy-Org/ComfyUI-Manager lists 2 (2026-01-10/11: CRLF injection into config.ini fixed 3.39.2/4.0.5; unprotected config channel fixed in 3.38 with ComfyUI 0.3.76+). None concerns pickle model loading or a malicious custom node; one advisory's workaround says not to accept untrusted workflows.

Inventory: 96 long-form uploads on the /videos tab dated 2025-10-27 to 2026-10-22 (931K subscribers, 420 videos channel-wide at fetch). Nearly all are 4-10 minute tool walkthroughs of AI video (Seedance 2.0/2.5, Kling, Sora/Veo, Gemini Omni, PixVerse), AI image (Nano Banana, GPT Image), 3D generators (Meshy x6, Hyper3D Rodin, Tripo, VARCO, Hi3D), music/voice (Suno, Lyria, Mureka, ACE Studio, Fish S2) and all-in-one platforms (Artlist, OpenArt, CapCut/Pippit, Lumina, Freebeat), plus a few VFX projects and course promotions. 94/96 descriptions contain affiliate, sponsor, discount or partner wording (regex screen). 91 list English auto-captions; 5 list none. Shorts tab exists and is not yet inventoried. Weighting: treat as practitioner demonstrations and launch-week capability reports from a VFX artist; useful for workflows and UI-level tips, not for comparative quality, cost-efficiency or causal claims.
