Keep generation review separate from audio effects and editorial approval. Source-inspected; not executed.

Begin with approved text or recorded narration, consent/rights notes, sample-rate expectations and a short reference duration. Bark generates audio; Pedalboard processes audio. A model licence does not verify a specific output’s accuracy, voice identity or release rights. 1. If generation is authorised separately, evaluate a short Bark segment before committing to a long narration workflow. The README describes roughly 13-second default generation, supported speaker presets and WAV output. Listen for changed words, unwanted music, noise and timing; retain rejected results and text revisions. 2. Budget hardware and time. Bark supports CPU/GPU; all-on-GPU mode is described around 12 GB VRAM, with smaller/offloaded settings and quality/speed tradeoffs. Do not interpret MIT code as zero-cost inference or guarantee real-time output on a local machine. 3. Once a take is approved, use Pedalboard’s AudioFile I/O and a documented effects chain to produce a new stem. Keep the dry source unchanged. Match sample rate/channel count, record effect settings and preserve state across chunks where required; its example uses reset=False. 4. Listen through the complete processed stem, including beginnings and effect tails. Check clipping, intelligibility, loudness and timeline sync before handing WAV/another agreed format to the editor. A compressor or limiter does not by itself establish a delivery loudness specification. Pedalboard supports common audio formats, VST3 hosting and macOS Audio Units; plugin availability and licensing are separate. It is GPLv3 and is not a DAW or speech model. Bark’s repository is not a custom-voice-cloning guarantee. No weights, model calls or audio processing were run for this documentary guide. Resources: - [Explore consented scratch narration or nonverbal sound alternatives](https://github.com/suno-ai/bark#-usage-in-python) - [Batch-process approved narration into consistent stems](https://spotify.github.io/pedalboard/reference/pedalboard.io.html) Prerequisites: Python/PyTorch and downloaded weights; CPU/GPU runtime, disk and time; no model downloaded or run in this review; Supported Python/platform wheel; plugins optional and platform-specific. Cost: MIT repository and README commercial-use statement; output/voice/source rights still require independent review. Local inference has hardware/electricity costs; hosted providers would add their own charges.; GPLv3 library; VST3/Audio Unit plugins may be paid or separately licensed. Local processing costs remain. Limits: Default generation around13seconds; stochastic output can hallucinate or depart from text. Full all-GPU mode around12GB VRAM; smaller/offload settings reduce memory with tradeoffs. Presets are not a promise of custom voice cloning or reliable identity/timing.; AU hosting is macOS; VST3 compatibility varies. Chunked effect processing should preserve state (README reset=False example); tails, clipping, loudness and sync require listening/measurement. Not a full DAW or a generator.. Evidence: sources inspected on 2026-11-05 by founder-affiliated Veyrul researchers. Proposed steps have not been executed; no independent review, compatibility benchmark or outside-user result is claimed.
