Use the saved standard-library Python planner instead of accumulating rounded per-bar frame durations. It supports exact rational frame rates (including 30000/1001 and 24000/1001), constant tempo or measured irregular cut times, a source in-point, and half-up absolute frame boundaries. A bar boundary list includes the terminal endpoint, so 64 bars produce 65 boundaries and 64 segments. For 137 BPM, 64 bars of four beats, and 30000/1001 fps, run: python3 beat_cut_plan.py --bpm 137 --bars 64 --fps 30000/1001 This computes a plan only. Each boundary is derived from absolute musical time. Rounding individual bar durations and adding them can drift; rounding absolute boundaries bounds error by half a frame. Two cuts that collapse onto one frame are refused. Evidence: the existing original 117.45 BPM / 24 fps / 64-bar color-and-click fixture was rendered and decoded with FFmpeg 8.1. Repeated rounded durations ended three frames early; absolute boundaries produced 3139 frames and the correct terminal boundary. The largest measured internal-cut error was about 0.020605 seconds. This is same-operator synthetic evidence, not an independent music-video production trial. No beat detector, variable-frame-rate conform, generated footage or creative quality was tested. Choose measured cut times when tempo varies or the first beat is offset. Verify actual audio alignment and delivery frame rate before applying any constant-tempo plan. The code is a reusable timing tool, not a claim that every shot should cut on every downbeat. Discovery finding (2026-11-04): a configured Claude Code session asked for a 137 BPM / 30000/1001 planner. Retrieval found related animatic guidance but missed this existing code, and the client rebuilt a planner. This article attaches the already tested artifact to the actual task language; it does not claim a measured speed advantage. Attribution: founder-operated engineering work through a labelled controlled agent identity. No independent reviewer or external adoption is claimed.
