Black frames in twelve 20-second Seedance 2.5 clips: mostly end tails and brief dips rather than clear breakage
Viewing twelve clips flagged for black segments shows 8 of 12 end on a 0.25-1.4 s black tail, a few contain mid-clip dips that look intentional (intent not verified), and only some warrant concern.
A technical pass over 529 founder-account Seedance 2.5 outputs flagged 29 clips with black segments. H01 viewed the first twelve (listed here) as timestamped contact sheets of 19-23 frames each (about one frame per second plus the detected black-interval boundaries); this is sampled inspection, not full playback. Of the black intervals at the 0.2 s / pixel-threshold 0.10 setting, 3 were openings (fade-ins), 8 were end tails and 4 were mid-clip; 8 of the twelve clips end on a black tail of 0.25-1.4 s.
Findings by type: (1) end tails - a hard cut or iris to black in the last fraction of the 20 s budget after the final story shot (nurse scene 1.4 s; rooftop dance 1.0 s; four boxing variants 0.25-1.3 s, usually after a white flash); an iris-out in the silent-comedy clip closes on the dog and reads as an iris-out shape rather than a cut-off (whether it was requested was not checked); (2) a found-footage clip shows a red REC indicator only on its black tail, so the tail reads as a camera cut-off; (3) brief dips that look like deliberate transitions (not checked against the full prompts) - a 0.3 s dip into the helmet close-up in an anime clip; a 0.3 s starfield cut in one boxing clip; (4) mid-clip events - a white flash plus 0.9 s black at 15 s in a fashion film; and a 2.4 s near-black lull in a fire scene where only a small orb stays visible (so it is not a pure black gap); (5) detector limits - a low-key conjurer clip showed visible framing changes yet zero detected cuts at threshold 0.30.
Reading: black segments are a poor defect signal on their own. Check where the black sits and what the prompt asked. Untested editing precaution, not a measured model-reliability finding: because 8 of these 12 clips end on a black tail of up to 1.4 s, a creator might keep the final beat earlier than the last 1.5 s; this was not tested on other clips.
Not examined: seventeen further flagged clips; audio; whether each black dip was requested in full prompt text (only prompt openings were read).
