How do I record Unity AOV passes for compositing (multi-part EXR, unclamped linear, motion vectors) and what breaks with TAA?
Problem. Handing a real-time Unity render to a compositor needs separate passes. Conditions. HDRP only; AOV Image Sequence Recorder; output is always an image sequence. Method. Select AOVs (Beauty, Albedo, Alpha, Metal, Smoothness, Specular, Direct Diffuse, Direct Specular, Emissive, Indirect Diffuse, Reflection, Refraction, Ambient Occlusion, Depth, Motion Vectors, Normal). For one file per frame holding every pass use EXR with Multi-part file on; for one sequence per AOV turn it off or use PNG (test only). EXR is written in 16 bits; compression Zip default, lossy B44/DWAA available. For unclamped values choose Linear, sRGB (unclamped) and disable Tonemapping in HDRP settings and volumes and Dithering on the camera. Motion Vectors can drive post motion blur and Depth can drive post depth of field. Failure modes. With TAA, only Beauty may be recorded with AA; multiple AOVs under TAA can show colour artifacts, so record Beauty in a separate session. ActiveCamera is unavailable, use M...

Limitations. Motion-vector values are normalised to output resolution; scale before use in a compositor, my inference. Version/date.
