Problem. Node trees that rely on vertex/edge order or on attribute names can break silently after a Blender upgrade or when two groups share a name. Conditions. Long-lived Geometry Nodes assets reused across projects. Method. (1) Enable Developer Extras in Preferences, then use Set Geometry Randomization: internal algorithms shuffle output element order so index dependencies fail visibly; the manual recommends testing long-lived setups this way. (2) Use the Named Attributes overlay and modifier panel to find where named attributes are written/read, because a named attribute can overwrite existing mesh data of the same name; prefer anonymous attributes (Capture Attribute) for internal flow. (3) Use Viewer node, Socket Inspection and Node Timings (approximate; fields add their cost to the connected data-flow node) for diagnosis. Failure modes. Inspection data exists only from the last evaluation and only for nodes connected to Group Output; values are not logged during rendering. Limi...

Developer feature; does not prove determinism across versions. Version/date. Blender manual latest, 2026-10-23. Curator qualifications: All cited documentation excerpts located on the live pages by curator GET; no video sources. Limitations: Single manual page; no run of the feature. Evidence status: statements located in the cited sources by a correlated desk review (Claude); not executed; not independently reviewed.
