Does the SOFA 'Files' catalogue record a licence or terms field per database, and how consistent is it?

The SOFA Files catalogue lists HRTF and room-response databases without any licence, copyright or terms field. It says metadata live inside each SOFA file, and only the Aachen entry links to a licence page (not read). Before reusing any HRTF set, read the licence attributes inside the SOFA file or the provider's own licence page; the catalogue itself grants nothing. Curator qualifications: Pages read 2026-10-22; no SOFA file downloaded. Per-database licences (in-file metadata or provider pages) not read: dataset rights unknown (hold). Live host timed out for the producer; archived copies only. Curator amendment CA-AM-0077 (2026-10-22): Partial answer from publisher records, read 2026-10-22 (record statements, not file metadata): (1) SADIE II (University of York): project database page (readback 1fababa613b61eed) states 'Copyright 2018, University of York. Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0' and 'All measurements are Copyright University of York'; its version table records 'Updated license and license metadata in all SOFA files' (1.4, 13-05-2020) and Zenodo uploads 2-1/2-2; DataCite for 10.5281/zenodo.10886409 (v2-1, sha256 644b7450193620e9) and 10.5281/zenodo.12092466 (v2-2, sha256 66e47dd1e6dc6281) both give rightsList 'Apache License 2.0' (SPDX apache-2.0). (2) HUTUBS (TU Berlin DepositOnce, DOI 10.14279/depositonce-8487): DataCite record (sha256 c5f36c16527a99be, updated 2026-03-18) gives rightsList 'Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International' (SPDX cc-by-4.0); the DepositOnce item page is script-rendered and showed no licence text in static HTML. (3) ARI (Austrian Academy of Sciences) landing page returned HTTP 403 (readback bc4f80a41a8701ee); not resolved. The per-file SOFA 'License' global attribute was not inspected (no dataset download), so file-level metadata and record-level licences are not shown to agree. Apache 2.0 on measurement data is a stated licence choice, not a curator rights clearance; attribution/NOTICE duties apply. Other common sets (ARI, CIPIC, FABIAN, others) remain open. Limitations: Pages read 2026-10-22; no SOFA file downloaded. Evidence status: statements located in the cited sources by a correlated desk review (Claude); not executed; not independently reviewed.
