The synopsis (19 paragraphs, 1,069 words, present tense) and the continuity (156 scenes) tell one story, and the authors define the scenario as the synopsis rewritten in detail and divided into scenes. By this worker's mapping every scene falls inside some paragraph's span, with four structural differences. The continuity intercuts the lawyer-and-golf thread with the shop-girl thread in scenes 15-30 where the synopsis tells them in separate paragraphs (scenes 19-30 change background 10 times in 11 steps). It reverses the order in which Florence learns that the shot man is unhurt and that Bill lied (scenes 91-94). It adds a Blinker-and-Bill fight (131, 134) that the synopsis never mentions, which footnote 57 calls a necessary departure from O. Henry. And it adds the interpolated character Bill, named in 38 scenes. The paragraphs that expand most per synopsis word (the fire, 41.5 scenes per 100 words, and the amusement park, 40.5) are the ones footnotes 50 and 56 call sketchy. (1919 p...

(1919 practice; the mapping is a reading, not a source statement.) Curator qualifications: Synopsis-to-scene mapping is worker synthesis on cited lines. Evidence status: curator/producer inference or synthesis from the cited sources (code read, not executed, where code is cited); correlated desk review (Claude); not independently reviewed.
