C2PA lets a manifest point to a watermark or fingerprint ('soft binding') so content can be re-matched after the file changes or the manifest is stripped, but a soft binding must never stand in for the cryptographic hard binding. C2PA's registry of soft-binding algorithms lists 28 entries (25 watermarks, 3 fingerprints; 10 cover audio). Entries record only a description, entry date, contact and info URL, with no robustness, detection-rate or licence data. Neither Google's SynthID nor Meta's AudioSeal is listed.
