Which W3C timed-text specs (TTML2, IMSC 1.0.1/1.1/1.2/1.3, WebVTT) exist, at what status, and which profile does a major deliverable spec ask for?

As of 2026-10-22 there are separate dated IMSC Recommendations: 1.0.1, 1.1, 1.2 (August 2020) and 1.3 (21 May 2026). IMSC 1.3 is text-only and drops the image profile. An EBU-TT-D file is generally also a valid IMSC 1.2 Text Profile file, with listed exceptions. WebVTT is still a Candidate Recommendation Draft (20 May 2026), not a Recommendation. Platform profiles are narrower: Netflix accepts its restricted IMSC 1.1 Text Profile only for Japanese timed text, so W3C conformance alone is not delivery conformance.
