Inkscape colour handling changed incrementally: 1.3 restored opacity and 16 blend modes in the Layers dialog and added an opt-in OKLch picker that still writes RGB hex (and cannot read OKLch colours); 1.3 PDF import keeps CMYK information via ICC colour-profile support; 1.4 added limited CMYK palettes and better CMYK-to-RGB conversion without an ICC profile; the 1.5 development notes list a new colour management system.
