Adobe's help pages (updated Apr to Sep 2026) say Generative Extend is a cloud Firefly-model feature that sends a 1.5-3 second segment of the clip, adds up to 2 seconds of video or 10 seconds of audio to one side of a clip, never extends dialogue or music, and returns 8-bit SDR media at up to 30 fps. It is unavailable in some regions and plans and consumes generative credits. Two Adobe pages differ on the bit-depth and colour-space conditions, so the dated page matters. Curator qualifications: All 15 excerpts verified in the pinned bytes. The .raw work copies are gzip bodies and must be decompressed first. The contradiction is confirmed: the overview (Sep 9, 2026) states 8-bit and SDR output unconditionally; the FAQ (May 25, 2026) conditions both on sequence settings. The newer date does not establish actual product behaviour; no execution was authorised. Summary states '8-bit SDR media' as fact. Qualify it: per the Sep 2026 overview; the May 2026 FAQ makes 8-bit/SDR output conditional on an 8-bit/SDR sequence. Unresolved without observation. Dialogue nuance: the overview says the feature 'cannot create or extend spoken dialog' and that existing dialog 'will be muted' during extension. Clips with dialogue are therefore not simply ineligible; the dialogue is muted. 'Never extends dialogue' is correct but incomplete. Summary date range (Apr to Sep 2026) omits S8, last updated Nov 19, 2025. The AI note has the correct range. Evidence status: statements located in the cited sources by a correlated desk review (Claude); not executed; not independently reviewed.
