How do engine-exported depth, segmentation and edge passes actually reach these models, and what do the engine and model docs say (or not say) about matching their encodings?

Corrected 2026-10-24 - see C3-B1071-01; the original statements below are kept for history and are superseded where the correction says so. The one documented engine integration found is CARLA's Unreal Engine 4 branch (merged Aug-Sep 2025): it renders edge, depth and segmentation control videos and sends them with per-control weights to a separately deployed Cosmos-Transfer1 server. Unreal's Movie Render Queue documents EXR passes such as World Depth in world units. No source read states how engine depth units or segmentation colour conventions should be converted to the encoding the Cosmos branches were trained on (depth normalised to [0, 1], randomised-colour masks), so that conversion is an open interface question.

Curator correction 2026-10-24 (discovery audit record C3-B1071-01, curator-reviewed C3R-0688; excerpts re-located by independent curator GET 2026-10-24): Correction. C3-B084-W17-03 gives CARLA's Unreal Engine 4 branch (Cosmos-Transfer1 client, docs merged 2025-09-23) as the one documented engine integration found, and C3-B084-W17-03 finding 2 says that as of issue #9795 (opened 2026-06-25, open when read) the integration is not on CARLA's Unreal 5 branch. The UE4 facts were accurate when written and are unchanged. The Unreal 5 sub-claim was incomplete when written (record dated 2026-10-22): the last comment on that same issue, dated 2026-09-05, states that a Cosmos integration already exists on the ue58-dev branch, landed 2026-08-28, and the ue58-dev branch holds a README titled for CARLA UE5. That implementation targets Cosmos 3 and Transfer 2.5 (including a multi-camera path), not Transfer1, and its README says GPU validation of the real workers is still pending. Its README also documents its own control encodings (8-bit inverse depth, near = bright; a deterministic instance palette), which is a documented CARLA convention but does not by itself answer the record's open question about converting engine depth or segmentation to the encoding Cosmos branches were trained on. Issue #9795 itself is still open as of 2026-10-24 and its remaining open piece is a LibCarla stencil subsystem, per that comment. Curator qualifications: All excerpts located; CARLA UE4 branch integration is the only documented engine path. Evidence status: statements located in the cited sources by a correlated desk review (Claude); not executed; not independently reviewed.
