Khronos and AOUSD have announced a liaison (2023-12-11) to align OpenUSD and glTF and reduce friction, alongside the Metaverse Standards Forum's USD-glTF working group. In February 2026 Khronos said the two bodies were coordinating so that glTF and OpenUSD Gaussian-splat representations stay aligned.
