IPTC's Digital Source Type vocabulary distinguishes media created with generative AI (trainedAlgorithmicMedia), edited with it (compositeWithTrainedAlgorithmicMedia) and composites with generative elements (compositeSynthetic); Photo Metadata carries one such URI in DigitalSourceType and a Data Mining permission URI whose own note says law may overrule it and silence is not permission. An agent needs both the XMP declaration and any C2PA-signed digitalSourceType, which can disagree (producer synthesis).
